What Are Nushi? (Quick Refresher)
In Beast of Reincarnation's world, Nushi (主, literally "master/guardian") are gigantic Malefacts that have grown powerful enough to dominate an entire region. Each Nushi rules one zone, generating the Blight corruption that spreads through the area. As a Sealer, Emma's job includes hunting these beings.
Nushi #1: Rangifer (Giant Stag)
| Field | Details |
|---|---|
| Location | Ogouchi Buffer Zone (Chapter 1) — Nushi's Lair |
| Level Range | Lv.9 (first encounter) → Lv.12 (rematch / scaled) |
| Type | Nushi — Massive woodland creature (stag/moose-like) |
| Elements | Physical (primary), Impact (charged attacks) |
| Unlocks | Sakura: Javelin (Koo Bloom Art — Lightning) + Tracking Shot tree passives (Emma) |
Attack Patterns
- Antler Sweep: Wide horizontal antler swing. Clearly telegraphed — easy parry. Good for building early FP.
- Charge Rush: Runs across the arena. Can be parried but tight window. If you miss, dodge sideways (not backward — it tracks).
- Stomp Slam: Rear-up then slams front legs down. AoE shockwave. Parryable but you need to be close. Creates Destructive-type terrain briefly.
- Grab (UN-PARRYABLE): Low antler scoop attempt to pick up Emma. DODGE THIS. If caught, significant damage + throw.
- Bellow Roar: Non-damage debuff aura. Lowers your defense temporarily. Just stay at range during the animation.
Strategy
- Enter with full Stimpacks and Hunger meter above 50%. This fight is marathon, not sprint.
- Phase 1 (100%-65% HP): Focus on clean parries on Antler Sweeps. Build FP to 60%+. Don't blow Bloom Arts yet.
- Phase 2 (65%-35% HP): Adds Charge Rush to rotation. Now you use your FP — Sakura: Javelin isn't unlocked yet (you get it AFTER winning), so rely on Higanbana: Bloom and sword damage.
- Phase 3 (35%-0% HP): More frequent stomps, faster charge recovery. This is where your Entanglement economy gets tested. Conserve for Blade Arts on Stagger windows.

Nushi #2: Lacerta (Poison Lizard)
| Field | Details |
|---|---|
| Location | Ancient Civilization Zone (Chapter 2) |
| Level Range | Lv.13 → Lv.16 |
| Type | Nushi — Large reptilian creature |
| Elements | Poison (DoT aura), Acid (spit attacks), Physical |
| Unlocks | Kiku Bloom Arts (Destructive-type, breaks guards) + Hair root skills |
What Makes Lacerta Harder
Rangifer was a straightforward "parry and punish" fight. Lacerta introduces two mechanics that mess with that simplicity:
- Poison Ground: Parts of the arena become poisoned over time. Standing in it applies a DoT that bypasses Guard reduction. You must reposition constantly.
- Acid Spit (ranged): Lacerta can hit you from across the arena. The projectile is parryable but the timing is unusual (arc trajectory, not straight line).
Strategy Adjustments
- Bring Poison-curing items if you have any (some Stimpack variants cure status).
- Use Cloaking Grass (if you took it from Hair root) to reposition without drawing aggro during poison ground phases.
- Sakura: Javelin (from Rangifer reward) shines here — Lacerta is vulnerable to Shock, which interrupts its poison-spitting animation.
- The Destructive-type Kiku Bloom Art you unlock FROM this fight is specifically designed for armored enemies later. You can't use it IN this fight.
Nushi #3: Taurus (Bull)
| Field | Details |
|---|---|
| Location | Pilgrim's Zone (Chapter 4) |
| Level Range | Lv.26 → Lv.29 |
| Type | Nushi — Massive bull creature |
| Elements | Impact (heavy physical), Flame (charge ignition) |
| Unlocks | Late-game Bloom Arts + Entanglement Overdrive passives |
Key Mechanics
- Armor Phase: Taurus has periods where it takes reduced damage from frontal attacks. You MUST either flank it or use Destructive-type attacks (Kiku Bloom Arts from Lacerta reward — see why that mattered?).
- Flame Charge: Its charge attack ignites the ground along the path. Lingering fire damage. Don't stand in the burn trail.
- Enrage (low HP): Below 20% HP, attack speed increases and it gains a new horn-thrust combo. This is the "execute carefully" phase.
Other Major Bosses (Non-Nushi)
These story bosses don't grant Nushi Skills but are required for progression:
| Boss | Chapter | Level | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Nue Malefact | Ch.1 (flashback) + Ch.3 (×4 fights) | Lv.16 | Recurring antagonist. Ch.3 version is fought alongside Male Purifier simultaneously — hardest story fight so far. |
| Male Purifier | Ch.3 (final) | Lv.20 | Fought together with Nue. Two-boss gauntlet. Bring maximum healing. |
| Beast of Reincarnation | Final (The Capital) | ?? | Final boss / namesake. Multi-phase. Details being documented. |
Universal Boss Prep Checklist
Before entering ANY Nushi lair, run through this list:

- Koo's Bloom Arts set for the fight (damage loadout recommended)
- Mods equipped on your primary Bloom Arts
- Know which attacks are grabs (un-parryable) — check guide above
- Campsite saved nearby for retry runs
